A 'Lovö' table by Axel Einar Hjorth, manufactured by Nordiska Kompaniet in the 1930s-40s. Made of pine wood. Part of Hjorth's pioneering series of rustic furniture in stained pine, the so-called sports cabin furniture named after islands in the Stockholm archipelago. The Lovö series was designed in 1929, breaking new ground as one of the first rustic furniture collections in Swedish modernism. Restored and lacquered. Shows marks from use.
