Pair of 'LC1' cowhide, leather and chrome armchairs after a 1928 design by Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret and Charlotte Perriand, Italy. The curved hinged chrome frame with cowhide back and seat, leather strap arms, raised on tubular legs joined by front and back stretchers. (2) c.1970-1980. The LC1 "Basculant" (which means rocking or tilting in French) armchair, designed by Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret and Charlotte Perriand in 1928, is often referred to as the 'sling chair' and was first introduced at the Salon d'Automne in Paris in 1929. Inspired by campaign chairs, the back is suspended and can pivot slightly to accommodate body movement.
