Figural Tabriz Tabatabai Carpet

Figural Tabriz, so-called Tabatabai, with a light ground and a field covered in detailed floral ornamentation, palmettes, and arabesques, as well as various animals such as birds, deer, and winged horses in soft shades of beige, light blue, green, and rust red. The border has a light yellow ground with further floral and figural decoration. The pile is wool and the warp is cotton.
