Pair of Egg Chairs designed by Arne Jacobsen in 1958 for Fritz Hansen. Made from Vacona aniline leather in cognac color, with four-legged base, the original old model with profiled legs and base, and the original large glides. Both chairs were manufactured in 1963, in November and December 1963 according to the labels. The bases show some marks, but the leather is like new. The Egg Chair was designed in 1958 by Arne Jacobsen for the Radisson SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen, and was produced by the Danish firm Fritz Hansen. It quickly became a symbol of modern design, featuring in scenes from the futuristic film "2001: A Space Odyssey". The iconic chair consists of a single-piece fiberglass-reinforced polyurethane shell molded in a concave shape, upholstered in elegant fabric. The shell has an adjustable tilt mechanism that can be adjusted to the individual user's weight. The tilt mechanism is made of steel, while the adjustment handle is made of polished stainless steel. The result is a distinguished, remarkable and unique timeless design that will endure over time.
